Description:
The queen is almost 6 mm, and the male workers were about 3 mm long, they have a color of a light brown to medium brown.

Alimentation:
The brown ants feed on dead or live insects, flower nectar, but have a preference for the honeydew produced by other insects such as aphids.

Habit:
The brown ants live in mineral soil (sand, silt, etc. …). They come into our houses to find food, preferably sweet. Their presence in abundance in the grass, is a good indicator of the condition of your lawn.

Reproduction:
The queen and the males typically mate in late summer early fall.
